Helios maintains a minority interest in the largest utility scale solar portfolio in Puerto Rico. Our operating projects enable the island of Puerto Rico to reduce the carbon footprint, and serves as an alternative source of power to the traditional and more expensive electricity sourced from diesel, coal, and other fossil generators.
Horizon Energy LLC
Salinas, Puerto Rico
Horizon Energy LLC is a 10.0 mw AC solar facility, with battery storage that was placed into commercial operations in August 2015.
Oriana Energy LLC
Isabela, Puerto Rico
Oriana Energy LLC is a 45.0 mw AC solar facility, with battery storage that was placed into commercial operations in December 2016.
Emerald Energy I LLC
Hatillo, Puerto Rico
Emerald Energy I LLC is a project company owned by Helios and is currently designed as a 20 mw ac solar pv plus 12 mw ac battery storage with a single interconnection to a 38 kv substation. The project is located in Hatillo Puerto Rico and will allow roughly 7,000 homes to be powered with clean renewable energy on an annual basis. The project sits on a 106 acre property and will be submitted into PREPAs Tranche 2 of the ongoing RFP process. Helios is currently working through the permitting process and expects the project to be shovel ready within 12 months, with COD in roughly 24 months post PPA award by PREPA.
